Plant The survey of plant and industrial installations may be required for as-built records, new design or retro-fit design and is one of the most dimensionally challenging of survey tasks. Frequently including structural steelwork and pipework difficult to access the results are supplied in PDMS, AutoCAD or Microstation formats. Because of the inaccessibility and intricate nature of the subject there is only one practical way to survey plant and that is to use a 3D scanner.
