Service Location & Mapping

Underground service tracing may be required usually as an additional element for a site survey instruction.

Drainage routes, surface and foul water, are usually traced by surface detail for position, resonance testing or sometimes dye tracing for connection with cover lifting to determine invert levels and pipe sizes. Sometimes a mouse is used for route tracing by radio detection.

Cables and metal pipes are traced by radio detection in both active and passive modes. Plastic pipes will be traced by ground penetrating radar that will also show up and corroborate the other services.
