Coastal Defences Coastal defences need mapping and erosion needs monitoring.ABA surveying monitors coastal erosion problems using GPS for the accessible areas and 3D scanning for the restricted access areas. Large areas of exposed foreshore can be covered very quickly using kinematic GPS either walking or mounted on a quad bike. 3D scanning is the solution where cliff erosion is the problem.
